Campus Security
- Lockdown, evacuation, and fire drills are practiced on a consistent basis
- Security personnel checks the campus throughout the day.
- Our local law enforcement has been provided with details of our campus and inspects our campus regularly.
- Every visitor must sign in and sign out in the school office and wear a school visitor badge.
- All of our school doors remain locked throughout each school day. We also have security cameras strategically placed on the inside and outside of our buildings to maintain 24/7 security.
- In cases of an emergency, SLBA will communicate with you primarily through the parent text alert system. Please be sure that your contact information is accurate with the school office each year.
- Other forms of communication may be through Facebook, email, or phone call. Please avoid calling into the school during an emergency as this can tie up phone lines to be used for contact with emergency services.
Health
Key staff is First Aid and CPR certified. We have a full-time registered nurse on campus.
Inclement Weather
There are numerous ways to receive bad weather information and its impact on SLBA. As soon as a weather-related decision is made, a School Cast email and text is sent to SLBA faculty, staff, and parents, while simultaneous phone calls are made to the news media. The notification will also be posted to the SLBA Facebook and Instagram pages. Parents can also watch or listen for weather announcements on the following radio or television stations.
