Thank you for your interest in Shining Light Baptist Academy! We value your child's education and desire the very best for your child(ren). Our students have unique opportunities to develop and practice their skills and talents in academics, technology/design, fine arts, activities and athletics. By focusing on student experience, learning is a fun process! Your child will be taught by caring teachers that will help your child excel and discover their potential. All subjects are taught from a Biblical worldview that will enable them to develop Christian life skills. Simply put, we care about our students!

Setup a Campus Tour
We would love to meet you and give you a tour of our school. This will give us an opportunity to share our passion for our school’s mission and purpose as well as get to know you! Tours are given during school hours.

Apply for Enrollment
Application Requirements:
- Complete enrollment application form
- New Student Testing Fee ($100 non-refundable)
- School Records - copies of previous school(s) records including any educational testing, transcripts, report cards (previous two years), and standardized test scores are to be submitted
- Copy of Student's Birth Certificate
- Immunization Record
- Recent photograph of the applicant
- Parent/Student Agreement
- Statement of Cooperation
- Church Information
- Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by August 31 to enroll
- The online application is for Kindergarten-12th grade only. Preschool applications can be emailed upon request.

Parent/Student Interview
Once the enrollment application has been submitted, the parents and school administration make an appointment for an interview. This interview is to answer any questions you may have, to discuss the school’s philosophy and mission, and to assess if our program meet the needs for your family.

All families will be notified upon your acceptance.

Admissions Policy
As a ministry of Shining Light Baptist Church, the Academy reserves the right to establish and maintain its own standards for student conduct and scholarship. Students are expected to make acceptable progress both spiritually and academically, to abide by school guidelines, and to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the policies and practices established by the administration.
Shining Light Baptist Academy makes no distinction in the admission of students based on race, gender, nationality, or ethnic origin. As a private, Christian institution, admission to Shining Light Baptist Academy is a privilege rather than a right. This privilege may be forfeited should a student fail to meet his responsibilities. It is vital and expected that each student and his family are fully supportive of the goals of the Academy.
Deadlines
Shining Light Baptist Academy accepts applications year-round. To ensure the best possible opportunity for your child, please submit your application by May 1.
Transfer Students
Transfer students are welcome at our Academy. The applicant must take an entrance exam to see where they test academically for us to be able to put in the correct grade level. Our academic advisors do their best to ensure that transfer student stays on track for graduation.
Financial
Families are invoiced by our business office for tuition and fees.
Application for tuition assistance is made through the North Carolina Opportunity scholarship.

- Priority Deadline Applications: February 1, 2024-March 1, 2024
- You may still apply after March 1, 2024 but will not be considered as a guarantee
- Awards up to $7,213 (tuition only) per student toward tuition
